Privacy policy

This site is run by Gregor Weber. It is deliberately built to collect as little as possible.

What is not collected

There are no advertising trackers, no third-party social widgets, no cross-site identifiers and no profiling. Fonts and scripts are served from this site's own domain, so loading a page does not tell any other company that you were here.

Cookies

No cookie is set for reading the site. A session cookie is set only when the site owner signs in to administer it.

Analytics

Analytics is disabled unless a privacy-respecting, cookie-free provider is explicitly configured. If that changes, this page is updated first and the provider is named here.

The contact form

If you send a message, the name, email address, topic and message you provide are stored so they can be read and answered. A truncated form of your IP address (the network, not the device) and your browser's user-agent string are also recorded, to make abuse of the form detectable. Submissions are deleted automatically after the retention period configured for the site, and sooner on request.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is stored together with the exact consent wording you agreed to and the time you agreed to it. Subscription requires confirming a link sent to that address, so nobody can add you to the list. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. The list is never sold, rented or shared.

Server logs

The web server keeps short-lived request logs for security and troubleshooting. Application logs are written with tokens and credentials redacted.

Your choices

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by using the contact form or the unsubscribe link in any email.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is published here with its date.
